Jesus Calling

It seems so unreal to me that I having been living in Mexico, at an orphanage, with a dorm full of teenaged girls for a year already. I have gone through so many changes and experiences.

His mercy is new every morning.

If I had to choose one thing that makes it all worth while, although there are many, I would say seeing the girls get closer to Jesus.

Everyday I see their hearts gravitate a little more towards Him.

His love is attracting them.

I have started personal devotions with some girls who made it a resolution to get closer to god this year. As we are sitting on my bed and reading from his word and explaining that God’s protective hands have been on them by having a home for then because they could not be at home, their tears began to fall and they see his grace. And as Jesus calls out to them, he speaks to me and says, “ I did it, see, now they want to know about me. “

“I am restoring them.”

Now the girls want to sing... I think it's contagious! They began asking for lessons from me, and one Sunday, even though we thought they weren't ready, they surprised us and praised Jesus with the worship band.

He has given them a praise to sing!

This Valentine’s weekend my girls we invited to serve at another children’s home. I asked, “who is willing to give up their Friday of paseo to serve other kids.” 6 out of 7 choose to give and serve and not receive nothing in return. It was amazing to hear report of how open their hearts were to the little guys in that home. It was such a miracle to hear, “they did so good, thank you” and not the bad reports they once were given. “You guys are ready for your first missions trip” I told them, and they all shouted “yes, yes, somewhere with little kids.”
